These evening P8 missions, if that is indeed what they are, are becoming a regular thing. The mode-S address of all these flights come from a block reserved for P-8As. Apart from that there appears to be an issue with the registration of P-8s. While the registration details of K35Rs, C130s, C17s etc are known and easy to find this is not the case for P-8s. Maybe this is related to the fact that the Navy uses a system that diverges from the rest of the armed forces : they use the format NN-NNNN -- usually the air frame's serial number -- for example, whereas the Navy numbers have no dashes in them.Operations

For some reason the Navy P8's registration data is largely missing. So the mode-s address is used to identify them.
