CommentAnother ALBERT, we're being spoiled.
The ALBERT is a classic : it's the callsign given to any RAF C130 buzzing about an RAF base, often practicing touch-and-goes.
It's the origin of the names of two other 'classic' RAF Akrotiri patterns : the small and big Albert. Both involve C130s flying into Iraq and back to Akrotiri the same day often just hours later in case of the small Albert. Big Alberts fly via Israel and may stop in Saudi or Kuwait before going to Iraq, while the small Albert flies in and out via Turkey usual to Erbil and back as fast as its wings can carry it.
Here's a typical Small Albert. a Big Albert and a mixed-up Albert.
