CommentItalian KC flying a holding pattern near where the Italian training jets fly. Those Aermacchis are always visible and none appear to be aloft so I suspect it could be there to refuel the USAF F-16s stationed at Andravida (red X, bottom right). It beats flying in a K35R from Mildenhall as they appear they have done yesterday. The F-16s are only visible now and then and even then only momentarily. But we saw one that at least one of them is out now.
On the other hand it could be none of the above. You'd expect a different call sign than the "IAM" they use when travelling. So it could just be shaking a leg before travelling on to it's destination.
It was just shaking a leg and now it's flying on, most likely to Kuwait where these Italian KCs usually hang out.
