The Syrian coast appears to be a new center of attention. Big birds are sent to check out what's going on instead of the usual Navy P-8A Poseidons. This is not a new pattern, it has happened before : large AEW&C machines weaving off the coast of Syria going up and down. I suspect they're not just there to see what they can see but also to find out what's out there in Syria that can see and track them. Sometime they're joined by a KC which I suspect means there are fighter jets out there too on a similar mission : finding out what if anything can lock on to them. S-400 and F-35 spring to mind.Resources
