If it is true that Turkey closed its air space to Russian military traffic to Syria, how do they know this is not a Russian CMB, a CMBski ?Let's see if we can see where it's going, it definitely is not Syria. We've seen Russian cargo charters on this route before.
@ 21:19 UTC : In fact after a bit of digging, well, scratching, it would appear this IL76 did not fly directly from Moscow as the tracks for ADS-B Exchange suggest (resource 2) but arrived in Istanbul yesterday (resource 3).
And we did see Russian traffic on a similar route. This very AZS IL76 ! It stopped in Adana and flew on to Tunis, a fortnight ago as AZS1901 .
That very much argues against it being a CMBski possibly sneaking by the Turks.

I was just too eager to find Russian military traffic getting around the alleged ban either by flying around it via Iran or by deceit, since it was announced in the Greek press.
So it looks like the ban, which I haven't see mentioned elsewhere despite it being a serious bit of surprising news, holds : no Russian military traffic to Syria, Libya or anywhere else that would require it to fly through Turkish air space.
