Turns out my original theory was correct : it was transferred from the US and it's being confused with other transferred C130s like 359.
I was wrong however in picking 346.
Twitterati (resouce 2) suggest this is in fact 359. Based on the data gathered it actually appears to be 357 based the serial-number.
Is this mess by design ? A cunning plan ?
