Typical Special Private Contractor move -- not as cocky as the military when it comes to that : using an airport near an actual base rather than land or take of from that base, if they can avoid it. If it had traveled to and from Sigonella, the base on the other side of the island, it would have been obvious it was military or related to the military.Now if you didn't know who they are it would just look like a white cargo plane taking off from Palermo.
