One of the ship's F-35B crashed in the area. Given all the sensitive, secret equipment in the F-35 this is a problem. The Russian Navy is also active in the area and Russia has several bases in nearby Syria, so it's possible someone will try to get to the wreck : the Russians to gather intelligence and the UK or US to prevent the Russians from gathering intelligence from the wreck.

There are however two factors that may prevent anyone from getting to it : traffic is very heavy in that area because of the Suez canal and the sea is very deep around there, up to 3 km.
